One of those days where it all comes together.

The kids wanted to go to Spray Watersports to do the kids club, the forecast looked like some wind would be there, so I had a windy morning at the beach, with the baby-sitting service all thrown in.

So, got down there a bit early, rigged up 5.8m and Kona 10'5 before getting the kids organised for their club.

Signed them in and left them with the crew and jumped into wetsuit and harness and hit the water. Really onshore with incoming tide, but no stress on the 10'5, just stuff it into wind and out it goes. Once out a little way so had space to bear away a bit, I was up and planing.

There were some bits of swell to play on, and even the odd ramp to hop off, and when it was marginal, just stuffed it back up into wind to make ground upwind to allow more playing on swell on way back.

Had an hour or so, then went in to see how the kids were doing on the lake. They'd opted to sail in the lilac coloured Topaz and were having a great time. Managed to watch them for a bit, and get some pics for them, before they sent me back over to the beach to go windsurfing.

Second session, tide was a bit higher, but again no problem launching. Conditions were a bit worse though, being misty and drizzling harder, but it did seem slightly windier too. Played about for approx 45 mins before going in to make sure kids were okay after their club session. Pretty much high tide going in, and the waves were on the steepest part of the beach, so just timed it so I went in on the biggest one and landed without stress putting board up over the steep ridge while keeping the rig flying.

Probably not everyones cup of tea today, but as I'd predicted, it all panned out really well.
